Why PrEP?

About 99% effective

Taken as prescribed, PrEP lowers the risk of getting HIV from sex by about 99%.

Private and judgment-free

No lectures. Just honest, confidential care from a team that respects you.

Most plans must cover PrEP medicine, visits and the required labs with no copay.

Virtual follow-up

Check in by video, get labs at a clinic near you, and pick up your medicine at your pharmacy.

Is PrEP right for you?

PrEP is for any adult who could be exposed to HIV. You don't need to explain or justify why you want it.

PrEP may be a good fit if you

  • Have a partner who is living with HIV
  • Have more than one sexual partner, or a partner whose status you don't know
  • Don't always use condoms
  • Had a bacterial STI, like syphilis or gonorrhea, in the last 6 months
  • Have used PEP more than once
  • Share needles or other injection equipment

Before you start, we check

PrEP is safe for most people. We make sure of it with:

  • An HIV test, since PrEP is only for people who are HIV-negative
  • Kidney function
  • Hepatitis B and C
  • Testing for other STIs
  • A pregnancy test, if it applies to you

Your PrEP options

There's more than one way to take PrEP. We'll help you choose the one that fits your life.

Daily pill: Truvada® or generic

One pill a day. The generic is very low cost, and it works for all types of sex and for people who inject drugs.

Daily pill: Descovy®

One pill a day, with a different form of tenofovir that may be gentler on the kidneys and bones. Not approved for people exposed through vaginal sex.

Injections

Long-acting shots instead of a daily pill: Apretude® every 2 months or Yeztugo® twice a year. We prescribe them and send them to a pharmacy that gives the injection.

How paying works

No membership and no subscription.

Your visits and labs

PrEP is preventive care. Most private plans must cover your PrEP visits and required lab work with no copay. Self-pay visits are $125.

Your medicine

Most plans must cover at least one PrEP option at no cost. Generic Truvada is also very low cost without insurance.

No insurance?

We'll help you find manufacturer assistance and low-cost pharmacy options so cost doesn't stand in your way.

We treat patients 18yo and older.

  • State ID
  • Insurance card (if you have insurance)
  • Method of Payment
  • Previous records or prescription bottles are helpful for new visits

For new patients please make sure to complete your new patient paperwork online prior to your appointment. If you are unable to do so, please arrive 15 minutes early to allow you time to fill out all required paperwork.

If you are a new patient please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment start time. This will allow you time to complete the paperwork and check in process in a timely manner.

All established patients should arrive 10 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment start time. This will allow adequate time to complete the check-in and payment process.

We make every effort to run on schedule and respect our patient’s time and this is largely determined by everyone making an effort to arrive early to their appointments.

Any patient who shows up more than 15 minutes past their alloted time is subject to rescheduling the visit.

Please remember that scheduling an appointment involves reservation of your provider’s time specifically for you. If you fail to cancel or change an appointment 24 hours in advance, we cannot provide services for other patients who would like to be seen, often times, same day for urgent matters.

Patients who provide late cancellation or fail to show up for 2 or more appointments at any time during the course of treatment will be discharged from the practice. This is because it is difficult to provide quality care to patients who consistently miss and/or cancel their appointments.
